Reach Every Reader Apps Selected for Inclusion on the American Library Association’s Notable Children’s Digital Media List
February 18, 2022
It was recently announced that two apps created by Reach Every Reader, Animal Antics and Small Wonders, have been selected for inclusion on the American Library Association’s Notable Children’s Digital Media list.
According to the American Library Association, Notable Children’s Digital Media are those considered the best for ages birth to 14, outstanding in both content and conception. They consider the app’s ability to enable and encourage active engagement and social interaction while informing, educating, and entertaining in exemplary ways.
“Creating the Reach Every Reader apps was an exciting and rewarding opportunity to combine HGSE’s expertise in early literacy with our growing digital footprint, all in the service of young children,” said Harvard’s Joe Blatt. “I hope this generous recognition from the American Library Association will prompt public libraries throughout the country to bring the apps to the attention of families in their communities.”
You can learn more about the apps and hear directly from their creators by watching this MIT Open Learning Talk which featured Harvard’s Joe Blatt, Liz City, and Rosa Guzman. Both Blatt and Guzman were instrumental in the creation of the apps.
