November 21, 2019
Reach Every Reader faculty member Hugh Catts presents What is Wrong With How We Think About Reading Comprehension: Implications for Assessment & Intervention at the 2019 American Speech Language and Hearing Association Annual Conference in Orlando, FL.
Abstract
Limited progress has been made in the intervention of reading comprehension, partly due to the way we have conceptualized comprehension. Reading comprehension is not a single ability, but is a multidimensional construct that is impacted by numerous reader, text, and task factors. The implications of the multidimensional model for reading comprehension has for assessment and intervention will be discussed.
